People-Powered Happy Hour with MI Governor Candidate Chris Swanson
People-Powered Happy Hour with MI Governor Candidate Chris Swanson

Democracy Brewing turns local breweries, pubs and bars into pop-up town squares where working people lead the conversation. Forget podiums and canned stump speeches—our gatherings put candidates at eye level with the folks who punch a clock, pour into our communities, and keep Michigan running.
On June 23 we’re handing the mic to Chris Swanson. After decades on the front lines as a paramedic and Genesee County sheriff, Swanson says government should “protect, serve, unify”—and that starts with listening. He’ll open with a quick five-minute intro; then the next 85 minutes belong to you. Ask him on-mic, or jot your question on the notecards we provide.
Why should you spend a Tuesday night at The Livery instead of the couch? Because when neighbors gather over a pint, real issues come out: water you can trust, wages that cover the rent, second-chance jobs, and schools that teach skills—topics that matter to the working class first. That’s the heart of every Democracy Brewing event.
Come early for a beer and great pizzas and stay to mingle, and leave knowing your voice—and your paycheck have been heard—help shape the conversation. Democracy works best when it’s brewed locally.
